*Edit* 17th Jan 2013
Just realised I only ever made this a private post – I have since run in the 5k race and have started Stronglifts 5×5…updates to come very soon!
I’ve just completed Stage 5 of New Rules of Lifting for Women and have decided that this will be the last stage of the programme that I’m going to do.
To be honest I’m not really that impressed with my progress in this stage. I think I’m just getting bored of the programme and its structure and I’m not liking the fact that I’m not getting to do the ‘big 3′ lifts. So…. I’m going to call this the final stage of New Rules for me and as from Monday 26th Nov I’m going to be starting on ‘Starting Strength’. I’m really looking forward to getting back to doing back squats and deadlifts and have bought a door gym so I can work on finally being able to do pull ups and chin ups.
Although NROLW is a great book and programme I think I’ve just outgrown it and I’m itching to work on my form on the compound lifts and start upping my weights on those rather than keep on doing variations of exercises.
Here are all my lifting results from the programme
Over the last couple of months I have also graduated from the C25k programme and last week I even managed to run 5 miles. I never would have believed I could have run for anything longer than 2 minutes let alone for a full hour. Off the back of that I registered me and my housemate Matt to do the Santa 5k fun run on the 16th December. Its going to be so much fun, everyone dresses up in santa suits and its for all ages. I’m so excited just to be able to know what my official 5k time is. I going to be trying to get it sub 40 mins but in all honesty I won’t be devastated if I don’t because I’m already proud of the fact I can run 5k let alone run it in any kind of decent time.
On a slightly different note I recieved my Nia Shanks – Lift Like a Girl hoody. And if it couldn’t make my day any better I fit very comfortably into it…in a medium! I can’t believe it! *happy dance*
She-Hulk Lottie is on her way!
I log all my foodz through MFP, my running through Runkeeper and my workouts overall through Fitocracy (I love keeping track of everything!) Oh and I have a Fitbit which tracks all my walking, exercise and random other movements…or somedays lack thereof
